This is an open question. The answer would vary greatly due to building size, location, amenities, utilities, etc. If you are seeking this information from a building owner's viewpoint and you know what the expenses are that are attributable to the building owner, you can total them all up and simply divide it by the square footage of the building. You could have a combination of a variety of expenses to consider: real estate taxes, insurance, utilities (water, sewer, gas, electricity, etc.), security, landscaping, janitorial, trash disposal, elevator maintenance, building maintenance, advertising, laundry, parking expenses, etc.
