I found it easier to use the map version when searching then reduce the number of properties shown by adding additional criteria to the search. Also, using the "draw" function to outline your search area is helpful.
LoopNet continues to migrate towards a marketplace for commercial property and not necessarily a place where you can search for the them and get specific data. For that you will need a CoStar subscription. Your profile says you're in commercial appraisal, so definitely a tool you could benefit from.
I agree, I miss the feature where I could look at the map of sold properties to narrow down my radius and then switch seamlessly to listings and leases so I could get a full market picture. The map function is definitley the easiest way to narrow down properties quickly
