This is often used interchangeably with leasing commission. Sometimes a landlord will pay a broker for simply bringing a buyer or tenant to the deal, as opposed to brokering the deal.

It's the compensation paid to a broker for representing a tenant or buyer to a property for lease or for sale, once the transaction has been completed. It can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the value of the property leased or sold.
