Newspapers reach fewer and fewer people these days. The tough economic times require a wide variety of advertising methods. Newspapers are only one vehicle but one that has diminishing circulation. In all likelyhood the brokers you mention have the highest chance of finding you a tenant because of their ability to source perspective tenants from sources not available to you.

Newspapers can be a great source for finding tenants and brokers. I currently work for a large business journal in the Inland Empire. All of our commercial brokers receive an online ad on our website in addition to the paper. So check out the website that is associated with NY Times , see if they have a business journal and look at that website. Multimedia is the way to go! Good Luck
