What's the value for a commercial real estate network with exclusive membership in each market?

What is the value of a network that not only includes brokers, but also contractors, developers, lenders, engineers, and other real estate professionals in specific markets? The goal of the network would be to help facilitate the referral of clients, leads, and information from one member to another, both within and between geographic markets.

It's kind of like loopnet - but you are expanding your network to include other professionals that provide associated services. I'd say the value of such a network is proprtionally related to the amount of business it generates for each professional. In practice though I would think most people prefer to refer to others they know a little better than just from a networking site - unless they have formed a good relationship on such a site or demonstrated exceptional level knowledge and skills.
