Describes the land use more specifically than the zoning district's land use designation.
Example: commercial ( land use designation): retail, church, hotel, indoor soccer facility, etc (zoning description).
Example: industrial (land use designation): brick yard, steel foundary, auto salvage, etc. (zoning description.

A zoning description is the characteristic of the Code. For instance, R-1 = Single-family residential or C-1 = General Commercial. The Single-family and General Commercial are zoning descriptions.
The best "FREE" way to look up zoning descriptions is through www.municode.com. They have a library of almost every jurisdiction.
