Not uncommon for office tenants to lease retail space as office space - just check with local zoning dept for what's permitted. As for random strangers walking in, I suppose you restrict entry requiring to be buzzed in.
As long as you comply with the requirements on your lease, zoning regulations and any other requirements ancillary to your profession, you should be fine.
Anthony, check with local zoning. Make sure their is 2 ways to vacate in an emergency. Check and see what the occupancy per sqft per person is. Use badge and or buzz in entry. Space and restrooms need to comply with ADA standards.
