How to view sold/off market properties not only by city, but by type (ie Retail Building)

Some cities/counties may have resources such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to help you identify commercial properties and latest sales, but they usually require A LOT of research and time. Your best option is to buy lists or join companies such as LoopNet and/or Costar that do the research and sell it.
