How much sales per square foot do retail stores do in Hotels and what occupancy factor is that based upon

I am interested in knowing the average sales per square foot of convience stores and other retail stores do in Hotels and possibly what te profit margins are. I have heard that stores are excpected to do so much per square foot based upon occupancy of the hotel. I think usually the only profitable stores ae the convience store and the other shops, magazine, gift, mens and ladies stores are lucky to beak even.

Sales based on square feet of retail space are useful for well established, typically national chains with well documented and supportable sales figures. The best way to determine the potential for an existing retail outlet in a Hotel, is to get three years income and expense data. This will tell you want you need to know regarding its profit potential.

Depends on the ADR also, not just the occupancy. Get a look at the financials and you can go from there.
