There are several profession publications for commercial property managers, as well as IREM. Both would be an excellent source of possible property managers. Contact other property owners you know for a referral if they have a property manager they currently use or have experience with.

A successful property manager should have some web presence, and I recommend that you use a web search engine like Google to search for property mangers that are in the specific area of your building. For example, if you search “commercial property services va”, you would find my property management company on the very first page within the search results, but if you do a more specific search for “commercial property services springfield va”, my property management company will be the very first on top of the list. In my onion, the reason is because we are the best property management company in Springfield VA. So if you had a property in Springfield, we would be the best choice, I recommend that you do the same for your specific property. Richard L. is correct - both IREM and BOMA are excellent sources with good websites to locate both individuals looking for jobs, or companies that are accredited. For hiring indviduals we have found web based sources to be excellent. The best was CareerBuilder.com, then Monster.com, and even Craigslist.com.

Selectleaders.com is also a great online source for finding any commercial real estate professional. From asset managers to managing directors, marketing people, research staff, etc. Good luck!
