A good REIA club do more in educating its members and allow less selling by the vendors. A good REIA has menotring where you can hook up with seasoned investors and learn. They meet regularly and update everyone on what's changing at national levels and at your local levels.
They usually have website where you can post and get more deals. Good luck. I am sure other people might look other characteristics of a REIA club... but these are my reasonings.

They are all good at something and you will learn something from each one. The object is to just go to as many as you can to learn as much as you can.
Good Luck
