Besides Loopnet, of course, what are the best options in advertising a "unique" property for sale by owner.

The property is a residential home with a large hangar and airstrip.

I would advertise on all free websites such as cityfeet, craigslist, ect. Also contact all local real estate companies and let them know you are willing to pay them a 3% commission if they bring you a buyer. For your specific property, I would also advertise at local airports that specialize in personal planes/pilots, not commuters. A "hobby" pilot may be interested in having a home with a hangar. Good luck with the sale. Anthony

Thank you, Anthony, you gave me at least one site I haven't tried already. Tell me though, do you really think a local real estate agent will have anything to add? I have hit all the aviation sites I can think of. And more. Will an agent really do any better?
Thanks, Tina... not Joe.

In today's market, you have to reach out to anyone and everyone to sell property. Offering a commission will obviously give agent's an incentive to bring you potential buyers. Best of luck Tina

It may depend on where you are, but in the San Diego area, there are a couple of active monthly or bi-monthly pilot publications, and I have seen homes with hangars and airstrips from various states posted there. The more local one is Pacific Flyer. A national magazine is In Flight USA. You'll reach a wide audience with them.

Thank you, Brian. We have the Atlantic Flyer here on the East Coast. I hadn't thought of advertising there. Until now. Tell you what, selling property with an emotional attachment is exhausting! :)

Joe, additional sites you might try are those listed by/with investment firms; both regionally and nationally. Local agents are able to assist, as well, if you are comfortable paying the commissions.

I just wonder if a local real estate agent would benefit this property. When you are selling a unique property (in this case a home with an airstrip) can a local Realtor add anything to the mix?

I have people from time to time that call me about Alabama land for sale with hangers and landing strips. I would commend an aritcle I wrote about best websites for advertising rural land (See link below). You might get a few more ideas from it.

Thank you, Jonathan. Haven't checked this site lately... unfortunately it has been a big disappointment. Spent many dollars to join, yet very little return.
